Gluten-free and grain free recipes: two sites to consider

While I have not been concerned about gluten in my diet, my son recently discovered he has colitis and has turned to a form of the paleo diet and gluten-free eating. The change seems to be helping him.

He and his wife were visiting for the 4th and told me about two website they use for recipe ideas, so I decided to share the sites with you should you too be searching for gluten-free recipe ideas.

We made zucchini, portobello mushrooms, salmon, asparagus and had watermelon for dessert.

The first has the great name of Against All Grains. It’s done by Danielle Walker, who describes her situation this way:

“Danielle Walker is the author and photographer of the New York Times Best Selling cookbook Against all Grain. After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when she was 22 years old, Danielle realized that she needed to make dietary changes to end her suffering. She removed grains, lactose, and legumes from her diet, and started her blog to help others suffering from similar ailments continue to enjoy food.”

The site has a recipe index that looks like it would be handy for searching.

The second site is called Elana’s Pantry, and is also done by a grain-free cookbook author, Elana Amsterdam.

She describes herself:

“Elana Amsterdam is the author of the New York Times Best Selling cookbook Paleo Cooking from Elana’s Pantry. She gave up grains over a decade ago in 2001 and is known as a pioneer in grain-free cooking and baking, tempting foodies everywhere with her incredibly simple, yet flavorful recipes for dynamic, vibrantly healthy food.”

If you’re in search of gluten-free, grain-free recipes, these sites come highly recommended.
